Interview with Amarillo ISD board candidate Tom Warren

Businessman and longtime Amarillo resident Tom Warren has announced his candidacy for the Amarillo Independent School District (AISD) Board of Trustees, bringing a message of leadership, fiscal responsibility, and support for educators.

Warren, who has been in the auto parts manufacturing and vehicle restoration industry since 1993, says his business experience has prepared him to help AISD make responsible financial decisions. "I’ve helped customers in more than 20 countries complete their projects and turn their dreams into reality," Warren said. "Now I’m running for AISD Board of Trustees to take my business experience to work for the taxpayers."

A lifelong member of the Amarillo community, Warren’s ties to AISD run deep. He and his wife, Tamara, both attended Tascosa High School, where they met in senior English class. Tamara later returned to AISD as a teacher at San Jacinto Elementary.

"AISD has roots that run deep in our family," Warren said. "As your next trustee, I’ll do everything I can to improve AISD schools for the next generation."

Warren’s own educational journey began at Bivins Elementary, where his mother worked as a teacher for nearly 40 years. He credits her dedication to students as a major influence on his perspective.

"I saw firsthand how much teachers sacrifice to put back into their classrooms and support their students," Warren said. "As your next Amarillo ISD trustee, I pledge to always support our educators and reward them for the work they put into lifting their students up."

With a platform centered on financial efficiency and educational support, Warren is inviting the community to join him in his campaign to "run AISD like a business" while ensuring teachers and students have the resources they need to succeed.
