Tim Reid, a longtime community leader and former FBI agent, has dedicated over three decades to serving the Texas Panhandle and beyond. From protecting national security to advocating for local children and veterans, his career reflects a commitment to service, leadership, and community development.
Currently, Reid serves as the executive director of the Texas Panhandle War Memorial, where he has transformed the site into a hub for veteran services. His latest initiative aims to expand the education center to include a Leadership Academy for high school students, providing young people with skills in civic engagement and leadership.
Reid’s service history is extensive. As an FBI agent, he played a crucial role in keeping the community safe and upholding civil rights. He later took on a national leadership role as a supervisory special agent and unit chief, managing a $65 million budget while overseeing a major law enforcement information-sharing initiative that was completed under budget and on time. His expertise led to international assignments in Iraq, Pakistan, Indonesia, and several other countries, where he addressed global security and information-sharing strategies.
Beyond law enforcement, Reid has been a strong advocate for children and education. He served on the Canyon ISD school board, co-founded the Amarillo Area CASA, and spent five years as president of the Potter-Randall County Child Protective Services board. He has also been active in community organizations, including Zoo Friends, the Greenways PID, and the advisory board for the Heart Gallery, a nonprofit focused on helping foster children find permanent homes.
