The Amarillo Police Department (APD) has identified the deceased woman found in an alley Tuesday afternoon as 65-year-old Elizabeth Ann Duckworth. Authorities confirmed that Duckworth’s family has been notified.
At 2:49 p.m. on March 11, officers responded to a call reporting a deceased woman in an alley at Center and Alabama streets. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of an unidentified woman wrapped in plastic. The scene was quickly secured, and homicide investigators, along with Crime Scene Investigators (CSI), were called to assist with the investigation.
Justice of the Peace Jackson has ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. As of now, the investigation is ongoing, and APD has not released further details.
