Canyon ISD school board calls May election, five seats on the ballot


The Canyon Independent School District Board of Trustees has officially called for an election this May, with five board seats set to be on the ballot. The decision was made during the board’s meeting on Monday.

Four of the seats are for general elections, each carrying a four-year term, while one seat will be decided in a special election to fill an unexpired two-year term.

Candidates Who Have Filed So Far

As of this article’s publication, the following candidates have filed to run:

Special Election (Unexpired Term – Expires 2027)

Place 1 – Mandi Palmer

General Election (Four-Year Terms)

Place 3 – Casey Posey

Place 4 – Randy Davis

Place 5 – Kari Trice

Place 6 – Jenni Winegarner
