Congressman Ronny Jackson has been named Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) Subcommittee on Intelligence and Special Operations. The appointment, announced by Jackson’s office, places him at the helm of a group that oversees policies and programs involving military intelligence, national intelligence, counter-terrorism, and special operations forces.
In a statement following the announcement, Jackson expressed gratitude to HASC Chairman Mike Rogers for the opportunity, emphasizing his commitment to strengthening the nation’s defense capabilities. “Working to guarantee our defense intelligence community and special operations forces are the world’s most lethal and effective fighting force has always been a top priority of mine,” Jackson said.
He highlighted his focus on ensuring the military is prepared for future conflicts and providing resources to support servicemembers. “I’m humbled by this appointment and ready to continue working on behalf of the American people in the 119th Congress,” he added.
