Josh Craft will not seek reelection to Amarillo City Council


On Monday, Josh Craft announced that he will not seek reelection for Place 1 on the Amarillo City Council in the upcoming May 2025 election. Craft, who has served the city with dedication and commitment, shared that his decision came after deep reflection and prayer.

"Serving the people of Amarillo has been one of the greatest honors of my life," Craft stated. He expressed pride in the progress made during his tenure and emphasized his ongoing passion for the city despite stepping away from his elected role.

Since taking office, Craft has focused on initiatives aimed at improving public safety, health, and the quality of life for Amarillo residents. He highlighted his commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility, which he believes were key components in driving the city's forward momentum.

Craft extended heartfelt gratitude to his family, particularly his wife Ashley, for their unwavering support. "I could not have done this without you," he said, acknowledging the sacrifices they made during his time in public service.
