Hodgetown, home of the Amarillo Sod Poodles, will begin a new round of upgrades in February 2025 to meet Major League Baseball's (MLB) compliance standards. This follows $4 million in improvements completed in 2024.
The renovations include a complete infield overhaul and updated stadium lighting, addressing MLB’s Player Development License (PDL) requirements. “We did a lot of that work in 2024, but we have a few things left for 2025 to reach compliance,” said Sod Poodles President and General Manager Tony Ensor.
Marketing Director Anna Spinks noted that Amarillo's unique weather, including strong winds, made lighting upgrades necessary.
Hodgetown, which opened in 2019, is approaching its seventh year as a premier venue. The improvements aim to enhance player conditions and elevate the fan experience.
