A former Tascosa High School wrestling coach has been arrested on charges related to an improper relationship with a student, according to Potter County arrest records.
Nicholas Herrmann faces two second-degree felony charges of “Improper Relationship between Educator and Student.”
Officials from the Amarillo Independent School District (AISD) stated that Herrmann was immediately removed from the campus when the district became aware of the allegations, and law enforcement was notified.
“AISD has no tolerance for this type of alleged behavior,” the district said in a statement to MyHighPlains.com. “Upon learning of the allegation, the District quickly removed the individual from campus, law enforcement was notified, and the employee resigned.”
The school district also reported the incident to Child Protective Services and the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) and has pledged to fully cooperate with authorities.
