Former Accelerate Christian School coach sentenced for child sex crimes


Kegan Matthew Abram, a former coach at Accelerate Christian School in Amarillo, has been sentenced after pleading guilty to multiple child sex crime charges.

Abram, 28, was initially charged in October 2024 with two counts of indecency with a child sexual contact and one count of improper relationship between an educator and student.

Court documents confirm that Abram entered a guilty plea to all three charges on January 21.

The sentencing includes two years of probation for each of the indecency with a child sexual contact charges, and a significantly longer term of 10 years probation for the improper relationship charge. In addition to probation, Abram was fined $10,000 for the improper relationship offense.

As part of his sentence, Abram is required to register as a sex offender for life. He is also prohibited from being within 1,000 feet of Accelerate Christian School or Accelerate Church. Furthermore, Abram must surrender all of his teaching permits and is permanently barred from employment as a teacher.
