Amarillo Habitat for Humanity celebrates completion of 121st home

Amarillo Habitat for Humanity (AHFH) has announced the completion of its 121st home, which will be presented to the Way family in a celebratory event on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The new 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home is located in Lee Green’s Addition in the El Barrio neighborhood.

The Way family expressed gratitude, sharing that they “fervently pray for God’s blessings to grant them a peaceful life in their new residence.”

As part of Habitat for Humanity’s program requirements, the family completed over 500 sweat equity hours and attended more than 30 financial literacy classes. “Habitat for Humanity homeowners earn their zero-percent interest mortgage through incredible patience and hard work alongside our volunteers,” said Sarah Curtis, Director of Operations. “The Way family has continuously volunteered on our job site, not only on their home but on their neighbors’ homes. We are so proud to see their hard work pay off.”

The event marks another milestone in AHFH’s mission to build affordable housing for local families in need.
