WATCH: Amarillo City Council meeting for 12-10-2025

The Amarillo City Council is set to meet on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall. The agenda includes discussions on the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), the council's engagement with outside attorneys, license plate readers for the police department, and autonomous mowers for city athletic facilities.

Public comment sign-up is available online, via the City Secretary’s office at 806-378-3014, or in person at least 15 minutes before the meeting begins.

Key topics include an update on the AEDC’s Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and Board of Directors selection process. These discussions follow the council’s hiring of Austin attorney George Hyde to guide AEDC changes—a move that contributed to the recent resignation of four AEDC board members, whose seats will be temporarily filled by council appointments.

Other agenda items include considering zoning and annexation ordinances, funding for a new women’s clinic, and fencing for the John Stiff Soccer Field. The council will also address an ordinance adding “Proposition E” to the Amarillo Municipal Code to adjust city council vacancy procedures and consider AEDC expenditure approvals.
