Texas to purchase border wall materials being sold by Biden administration

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announced plans to acquire materials for the southern border wall and present them to President-elect Donald Trump, as he revealed during a conversation with Fox News host Laura Ingraham.

“I got a billion dollars in my pocket to do it,” Patrick stated. “I will go in and buy it all.”

Patrick criticized President Joe Biden, labeling him a "traitor" and accusing him of attempting to "sabotage" the incoming Trump administration. He declared Biden “the worst, most despicable president in the history of this country,” alleging his policies have harmed American citizens.

Patrick’s remarks come after reporting by The Daily Wire, which released video footage showing U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents dismantling unused border wall sections. These materials are reportedly being transported north and sold.

The Biden administration has been disposing of surplus wall materials since August 2023, citing standard government procedures. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has transferred or sold approximately $154 million worth of bollard panels and related items, with the remaining materials listed on GovPlanet auction site.

Patrick’s commitment underscores ongoing political tensions over border security as the incoming administration prepares to revisit Trump-era policies.
