The Amarillo Area Foundation announced Wednesday the passing of Clay Stribling, its longtime former President and Chief Executive Officer, at the age of 56. Stribling, who stepped down last month due to health issues, served as a transformative leader during his 12 years with the Foundation.
Stribling became President and CEO in 2011, leading the Foundation to unprecedented success in serving the Texas Panhandle community. Under his leadership, the Foundation doubled its endowment and spearheaded impactful initiatives, including The Panhandle Gives campaign, which has raised over $30 million to support organizations in all 26 counties of the Foundation’s service area. His tenure was marked by significant progress in education, healthcare, and economic development across the region.
"It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Clay Stribling," the Foundation wrote in a heartfelt statement. "His leadership and vision transformed lives across the Texas Panhandle, and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us."
Stribling was honored in August as one of West Texas A&M University's 2024 Distinguished Alumni, a testament to his lifelong dedication to the community. Following his departure as President and CEO, Keralee Clay, formerly Senior Vice President, was appointed interim President and CEO to ensure continuity in leadership.
