The City of Amarillo is now accepting applications for vacant positions on the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) board of directors, following the resignation of four members earlier this week. The resignations were submitted on Monday, prompting the city to open the application process to fill the interim vacancies.
According to the City of Amarillo website, individuals interested in serving on a city board or commission must meet specific qualifications. Applicants should be registered voters within the city, although the Amarillo City Council may also appoint individuals who, while not registered voters, possess exceptional subject-matter expertise or knowledge that would benefit the board. Additionally, applicants cannot be indebted to the city and must be residents of either Potter or Randall County.
The city encourages those who are interested in applying for the AEDC board or other city boards and commissions to submit their applications online. The process is open to those who meet the outlined criteria and wish to serve their community through these vital positions.
For more information about the application process, or to learn more about the duties of the AEDC board, residents are encouraged to contact the City Secretary’s Office at (806) 378-3013 or visit the City of Amarillo’s website.
