In front of hundreds of Red Raiders Friday night, Texas Tech President Lawrence Schovanec publicly announced the university’s new fundraising campaign: On & On.
The announcement immediately followed Homecoming Week’s annual pregame pep rally and the lighting of the traditional bonfire. Between the sets of country artist Niko Moon and band Midland, Schovanec took the stage.
The campaign looks to raise $1.2 billion over the next four years, said Byron Kennedy, Tech vice president for university advancement.
“We're going to invest in our students, in our faculty, in our buildings, in athletics and in doing so, we're going to continue with the Red Raider spirit,” Kennedy said.

The night’s announcement was accompanied by marketing videos from the university and a presentation of Tech’s most recent enrollment and graduation numbers.
“There's a special bond among Red Raiders. We’re a family. Do you feel it here tonight?” Schovanec said. “When Red Raiders see a need, they rise up and address it, and that's what we'll do. So it's the spirit that's driven us forward all these years, and as we go into this campaign, we'll write the next chapter of the remarkable story of Texas Tech, and we'll do it together.
