Do you have questions or concerns about Canyon ISD tax rate election?

Canyon ISD is hosting an information session on October 7 to discuss a proposed 3-cent tax rate increase. This increase would set the district’s tax rate at $0.9577 per $100 of property valuation.

The district, which has seen significant growth with over 11,500 students enrolled for the 2024-25 school year, aims to raise approximately $5.1 million through this tax rate election.

Additional funds would be used to:

Enhance safety and security measures, including armed officers at all campuses.

Support and maintain all student programs.

Retain a competitive compensation plan and quality workforce.

Provide buses for additional routes to accommodate enrollment growth.

Manage inflationary costs, especially for insurance and utilities.

The community is invited to a “CISD Community Conversation” at 7 p.m. on October 7 at the conference center at Happy State Bank Stadium, where the CISD Board of Trustees will be present to answer questions. Questions can also be submitted in advance on the Canyon ISD website.

Do you have any specific questions or concerns about this proposal?

The tax rate election will be on the ballot in the upcoming election on November 5.
