Amarillo City Council has scheduled a special meeting for a second and final reading of an ordinance adopting the City of Amarillo budget for the 2024/2025 fiscal year and an ordinance for the City of Amarillo tax rate.
The special meeting is Tuesday (September 17) at 3 p.m. in council chambers in Room 302 of city hall.
Both ordinances were approved upon first reading during the Sept. 10 council meeting.
This budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year’s budget by $3,654,631, which is a 5.43% increase from last year’s budget. The property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $1,279,505.
